Don’t forget the Midwest Gaming Classic in Milwaukee

Hello internet, Ben here with another plug for the Midwest Gaming Classic. (MGC)

If you like videogames, and you live even remotely close to Milwaukee, WI (home of all the best beers) you owe it to yourself to visit the 2010 Midwest Gaming Classic! It’s become quite a large event, rivaling the size of game conventions you’d find elsewhere (well, maybe not Dragon*Con).

Best of all, at least in the context of this website, you can visit the Experience room of MGC to meet me, podcast co-host Jason “Jones” Jones, and many of our forum members. Highlights include:

  • On-spot mods and repairs of whatever you bring in.
  • 3D printing demonstration, thanks to Chris Kraft.
  • Separate panel by myself discussing pinball and probably lots of off-topic BS.
  • Hands-on demonstrations of forum member’s projects
  • BILL PAXTON PINBALL. Free to play, with high-score save and 4 player competition mode!

So if you haven’t already, check out their site here! We’ll see you there!

  1. Hi,
I found you while searching for a custom PS3 paddle, or do they call it controller these days? My husband was born with one finger on his left hand. This means if Madden or the war type games he plays don’t have adjustable button settings he is stuck because the L1 L2 and aiming toggle (which I myself with 10 fingers can select whenever I like) can be chosen only one at a time… so he can walk or shoot, but not walk and shoot. It drives him batty. I hate that it makes him feel different.

Do you have any advice for a good paddle? Essentially I think if the L1 and L2 were lined up on the right side, he’d be ok. He could steer with the little left hand. Sort of like rock band… you get used to the 4-5 buttons and the whammy bar for your right hand…

If you have any advice I would appreciate it. It sounds like lots of people have come to you for advice. Thanks!

  2. They had a Doom LAN going on next to the Ben Heck stand… It was mainly twelve year olds who thought they were amazing screaming whenever they died :/

  3. I really am interested in one of those xbox 360 laptops. I will be generous and pay a good sum of money for one…
